By August 20, 2025No Comments

Vancouver, BC – August 20, 2025 – CAI Capital Partners (“CAI”) is pleased to announce that its portfolio company, LineStar Utility Supply Inc. (“LineStar” or the “Company”), has successfully closed the acquisition of Okanagan Test Rite Liveline Tool Services Ltd. (“OKTR”).

Based in Salmon Arm, British Columbia, OKTR specializes in the testing and repair of high-voltage live-line tools and equipment. The business is dedicated to ensuring the safety and reliability of critical gear used by powerline technicians, including insulating blankets, voltage detectors, insulating mats, hot sticks, and other essential tools. Founded by Clint Wishnowski, who brings extensive industry experience, OKTR will form the testing division of LineStar in British Columbia following the transaction. Clint will lead LineStar’s testing operations in British Columbia.

This strategic acquisition represents a significant opportunity for LineStar to enhance its existing testing capabilities—including mobile testing—while bringing together the complementary strengths and expertise of both organizations. The combined service offering is expected to drive future growth by delivering greater value to existing customers and expanding reach to new clients across the region.

“We’re incredibly excited to welcome Clint and his team to the LineStar family,” said Brian L’Heureux, CEO of LineStar. “Clint has built an incredible business and brings a wealth of experience and deep expertise in the testing services space, which will be a tremendous asset as we continue to grow across the country. This partnership adds critical testing capabilities within British Columbia and enhances our ability to serve our existing customer base with expanded testing and service capabilities.”

“I’m thrilled to be joining the LineStar team and to be part of a company with a clear vision and strategy for further growth.” said Clint Wishnowski, founder of OKTR. “By combining our local expertise with LineStar’s resources and reach, we’ll be able expand our reach and offer comprehensive testing solutions to key utilities and contractors across British Columbia. This partnership is a great fit and I’m excited about what we can achieve together.”

LineStar’s investment in OKTR marks its third acquisition and aligns with the Company’s long-term strategy of expanding its utility equipment and service offerings, geographies, and adjacent end markets. LineStar is actively seeking acquisition opportunities in Canada and the United States.

CAI and LineStar were advised on the transaction by Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP.
